Handsworth Secondary School North Vancouver
Handsworth Secondary School has a long history of its athletics programs and has teams participating in football, rowing, field hockey, rugby, swimming, mountain biking, soccer, volleyball and basketball. Handsworth also involves students in exchange programs such as a visit by students to Japan & Italy, where students learned local customs and culture, and had a chance to build relationships with Japanese students.

According to the Fraser Institute, Handsworth has a rating of 7.9 out of 10 and ranks 29th overall in British Columbia. The school has approximately 1-2% ESL, 7-8% special needs, 25% French immersion and a grade 12 enrolment of approximately 250 students.
Among Handsworth’s alumni are Olympians Ian Bird, Blythe Hartley, Lise Leveille, Brent McMahon, Peter Milkovich, Anna Rice, Paul Wettlaufer, professional basketball player Tyler Kepkay, professional skateboarder Colin McKay, professional soccer player Mason Trafford, NBA player Robert Sacre, Juno Award winner Mike Ayley and 4-time Juno Award winner Renee Rosnes.
